Decadent Chocolate Tart
When it comes to chocolate tarts you can go without the sugar right?? Wrong!! This absolutely gorgeously decadent chocolate tart brings all the goods without any of the bad. With nothing to sweeten it except dates and honey, there is nothing to feel guilty about!!
Ingredients
Base
1 cup almonds
10 medjool dates
1 tablespoon cacao
1 cup desiccated coconut
Filling
1 tin coconut cream (400ml)
2 tablespoons honey
2-3 tablespoons cacao or adjust to taste
Topping
Fresh berries, coconut or anything you like
Method
Base
Place all ingredients in food processor and blend until it all sticks together you can add more dates if you need to.
Press base into the bottom of a cake pan and place in freezer to set.
Filling
Place coconut cream and honey into a saucepan, let simmer, whilst stirring frequently for around 30 minutes until it starts to thicken and coat the spoon it could take longer.
Remove from the stove and add the cacao powder and mix through, adjust to taste.
Allow the mixture to cool.
Remove the base from freezer and pour the filling over the top.
Add fresh berries or sprinkle coconut to decorate.
